Ailing Kingfisher Airlines has been facing plenty of problems for the past few months. The airline chief, Vijay Mallya has kept himself away from any interactions or discussions ever since the airline started facing problems.
On October 30, 2012, Mallya made it clear that the carrier will continue to fly despite all the problems. Mallya added, “Problems will be faced and hurdles would be crossed”. The airline chief talked to reporters after a meeting with the civil aviation secretary KN Srivastava, and the Airport Authority of India’s chairman VP Agarwal, on Tuesday. Mallya was in Delhi to share the revival plans for the airline.
The airline chief said that he has briefed the secretary on revival plans for the airline, and that the plan is going to be comprehensive. However, the airline chief did not reveal too many details of what the revival plans will be. Mallya was also asked about reports that AAI may take back hangers from Kingfisher, but he refused to comment. Virgin Atlantic main man Richard Branson said that ‘many entrepreneurs would have run away under such circumstances’. Upon hearing this, Mallya said that he was thankful to Branson for such a statement and added that at least someone is trying to keep the airline alive.
